CyberCube’s Head of Client Services, Oliver Brew, sat on the advisory board for the Cyber Risk Insights Conference 2019, organized by Advisen in New-York.

The conference is the world’s largest Cyber Risk & Insurance industry event for P&C Professionals. The one-day program has become a flagship event on the cyber calendar.

This hallmark event not only offers a full day of learning, networking and business at the conference, but a range of dinners, workshops and social gatherings in the surrounding days as the elite of the global cyber market descends on New York. The multi-track insurance conference featured the hottest topics including cyber risk management, developing issues in the cyber insurance space and insight into the ‘Dark Side’ of the web – with a focus on the people behind the latest cyber incidents.

Nick Beecroft, Client Services Manager at CyberCube participated in a session on Comparing and Contrasting Cyber Aggregation Models alongside Derek Blum (Senior Director Product Management, RMS) and Philip Rosace (Global Lead, Risk Solutions, Guidewire Cyence), moderated by Jim Blinn (EVP, Client Solutions, Advisen).
In this session, representatives of leading modeling companies introduced their company and models, the use cases and the approach they use. They also covered topics such as underlying data management, scenario construction, use cases and some of the key cyber definitions.

Oliver Brew also participated in a session on Comparing and Contrasting Cyber Aggregation Models alongside Thomas Harvey (Senior Manager, RMS) and Philip Rosace (Global Lead, Risk Solutions, Guidewire Cyence), moderated by Jonathan Laux (Head of Cyber Analytics, Reinsurance Solutions, Aon).

In this session, the panelists discussed the results from the modeling firms. They described a synthetic portfolio, then discussed the results. This session relied on a user’s perspective to probe the results to understand how they should be interpreted. As there is no right or wrong answer, the objective of the session was to provide the panelists an opportunity to help interpret the results and explain the source of any differences.
