San Francisco, California, 13 June 2022 – A new study of the cyber insurance market by the Insurance Institute of London (IIL)  has been sponsored and co-authored by cyber risk analytics specialist CyberCube.

The book, Cyber Insurance Research Findings, Research Study Group 266, will be launched on 16 June and be available in hard copy and as a PDF. It has been written for insurance professionals and other interested parties as a guide to both cyber risk and cyber insurance.

The 382-page book is in four parts covering cyber risk, coverage, quantification and risk management. Part 1 reviews the exposure of organisations to cyber risk, Part 2 focuses in more detail on how these cyber threats can be insured, Part 3 examines how cyber risk poses a risk quantification challenge for the (re)insurance market and Part 4 considers cyber insurance claims.

Rebecca Bole, CyberCube’s Head of Industry Engagement and a co-author of the book, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with the IIL and other contributors in the (re)insurance market on this insightful publication. Cyber insurance is one of the fastest moving segments of our industry and it’s not easy to keep abreast of the latest developments in the threat landscape and the insurance coverage. CyberCube is committed to educating the industry. That’s why sponsoring this book and supporting its distribution.”

Neil Park, FCII, Study Lead for the book, said: “In the book, we often note that both the threat and the insurance market’s response to it will continue to change. Written by practitioners, this comprehensive publication is useful for anyone wanting to gain an insight into cyber risk and how it is approached in the insurance and reinsurance market.”
